Blue Skies and Dancing Trees
I journey through life in southeastern Indiana. My husband Troy and I live next door to my parents on the property where my mom grew up. I regularly have the opportunity to revisit spaces where I most felt peace, joy, wonder and connection with the sacred as a child.
Living in this beautiful place, I find that many days I miss its gifts. I easily become overwhelmed and discouraged with myself and the world. My thoughts run away with me so I'm thankful when a bright blue sky, dancing tree, or other creature or space draws me back and grounds me in its beauty.
I discovered an enjoyment for photography in junior high, but abandoned the dream of becoming a photographer in college. I've never felt good enough or that I had much to offer. And while I still battle that voice, perhaps I do have something to offer. I most enjoy creating images of the extraordinary found in everyday, ordinary places.
I hope these images will offer you a moment of peace.
